David Heldreth is a leading scientist, inventor and educator in the cannabis and psychedelic communities. Heldreth was previously a journalist with a science background. He has now turned his interest in science and education to informing the public and expanding access via scientific and business development. He was a party to the recent DEA hearings to schedule psychedelic tryptamines and phenethylamines.
Heldreth holds patents and is the founder and CEO of both: Panacea Plant Sciences, a biotechnology company developing a portfolio of cultivation, extraction, processing, formulation and medical treatment intellectual property and patents around the cannabis plant, psychedelic life forms, and other medicinal crops. However, Panacea’s main focus is the development of an ethical, sustainable way of conducting business. The company has devoted 32% of equity in perpetuity to indigenous groups and non-profits associated with supporting them and the environments the animals, fungi, plants and people inhabit.
