As the Head of Responsible Business at Addleshaw Goddard, Mary leads the firm's ESG strategy, engaging with all operational areas of the business. She also oversees the team responsible for DE&I, pro bono and community engagement, and work closely with the firm's Environmental Manager to progress AG's climate and environmental commitments. Mary started her career as a commercial real estate lawyer, before realising that her passion lay in supporting law firms to achieve their potential through leveraging their most important asset – their people. As such, she made a move into Business Services and earned an MA in Human Resources Management. More recently, she completed a course in Business Sustainability Management with the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership (CISL). Mary's career reflects a blend of strategic leadership, as well as operational delivery. She has a strong commitment to social and environmental responsibility and is passionate about building organisations that prioritise ethical practices, continuous learning, and inclusivity. She is a founder and trustee of the award-winning Mindful Business Charter, which aims to improve mental health and wellbeing within the legal sector.
