Table 13 Consulting
I am one of the founders of Table 13, a boutique consultancy advising law firms and legal departments on all aspects of their service delivery and client engagement. We focus on helping our clients achieve:
• Smarter, more efficient operations;
• Better, more focused technology use; and
• Stronger, deeper client relationships.
I have over 30 years’ experience as a qualified lawyer practising in the City of London and offshore in the British Virgin Islands, and later as Director of Knowledge for the Global M&A Practice at Baker McKenzie, and Director of Practice Development, Knowledge & Innovation at Dentons. My special focus is on service delivery improvement and the practical application of knowledge and innovation (including digitisation and uses of AI) and process enhancement. I am a non-practising solicitor (England & Wales and the British Virgin Islands) and a Visiting Lecturer at the Law Faculty of Oxford University.
An active champion of diversity, equality and inclusion, I am currently on the board of, or observing, several Africa-focused charities, as well as being a LawTech UK mentor and member of the Lawtech Sounding Board at the City of London. I established (and chair) the Industry Mentor Group for Oxford University’s postgraduate Law & Computer Science Programme and am a contributing author to Legal Due Diligence in International M&A Transactions - A Practitioner's Guide (Kästle/Svernlöv eds, 2022), quoted in Professional Services Leadership Handbook: How to lead a professional services firm in a new age of competitive disruption (Beddow, Kent, Furner & Clark 2017 and was the editor of Baker McKenzie’s International Joint Ventures Handbook (Oct 2015) and Global M&A Handbook (Mar 2015).
A graduate of the Cranfield NED Programme, I have a BA and MA in Law from Oxford University, an MBA from Henley Business School (with a dissertation on behavioural change in law firms) and a Master’s degree (Distinction) in African Studies from SOAS, University of London (with a dissertation on Economic Anthropology). I am also a Qualified Mental Health First Aider.
