BIO:

Laurie Basch is a senior level transactional attorney in the consulting industry; previously general counsel at three technology-based companies. Wide range of experience advising clients in multiple industries and companies on business and strategy matters. As Associate General Counsel at a global management consulting firm, Laurie advises her clients on complex commercial arrangements involving AI and technology, intellectual property, sustainability, privacy, and confidentiality. A large part of her role involves providing strategic advice on legal, risk, and policy issues critical to my client’s decision making and working on initiatives to improve operational excellence and support growth. She leads a global team working on finding AI solutions to improve the delivery of legal services she manages a team of commercial attorneys and is responsible for their professional development.

Laurie excels at complex problem solving, particularly in cutting edge areas of business and law where there is little to no precedent. She can quickly gather relevant information and find a path forward by bringing together input from multiple stakeholders and integrating various voices into a practical and coherent solution.

Laurie served as General Counsel for a multi-channel health and beauty brand and built their legal department infrastructure. She served as Chief Legal Officer for an online media company, providing legal guidance as they built a multi-million dollar advertising supported business. In both instances, she advised senior management on business critical issues, hired and trained attorneys, managed outside counsel, and helped the company navigate legal and risk issues in its path forward.

Laurie has worked at major law firms and taught Legal Writing at Fordham Law School.
